The rules we work under.
Policies are only useful if the people they protect can read them. All of ours are public, in plain language, and the reporting routes do not run through the person a complaint might be about.
Six policies, all public.
Child protection and safeguarding
Screening, training, conduct standards and an independent reporting route that bypasses line management. Applies to every member of staff, volunteer and partner.
Donation acceptance
What we accept, what we decline and why - including the sources we will not take money from, and our right to return a gift.
Whistleblowing
Protection for anyone raising a concern in good faith, including people outside the organisation.
Conflict of interest
Declaration on appointment and annually; anyone with an interest in a decision leaves the room for it.
Image and story consent
No photograph or story of a person we work with is published without informed, revocable consent - and never of a child in an identifying way.
Data protection
What we collect from donors, volunteers and programme participants, how long we keep it and who it is shared with.
Raising a concern
Anything involving a child or an adult at risk goes to the safeguarding trustee directly, at [email protected]. That inbox is not read by programme staff. You may report anonymously, and we will act on it either way.
Ask about any of this.
If a policy is unclear, that is our failure rather than yours. Tell us and we will rewrite it.
