1. How to give
There is no payment facility on this website. Every gift is arranged through a conversation, so that the donor has seen our audited accounts and had their questions answered first. We will confirm in writing what the gift funds and what we will report back.
2. What we decline
The Foundation will not accept a donation where:
- The source of the funds cannot be established, or is reasonably suspected to be unlawful
- Acceptance would require us to promote a political party or candidate, or any religion
- The donor seeks influence over programme decisions, beneficiary selection or published results
- Conditions attached would require us to withhold or alter what we report publicly
- The association would credibly damage the interests of the communities we work with
3. Conditions we attach
Restricted gifts are honoured for the purpose given. Where a restricted purpose becomes impossible - a district becomes inaccessible, a programme closes - we return to the donor and agree an alternative rather than quietly redirecting the money.
We reserve the right to return a gift, including after acceptance, if information later emerges that would have caused us to decline it.
4. Recognition and anonymity
Donors may be named or remain anonymous, as they choose. Naming never confers influence over programmes, and we do not offer board seats, staff appointments or beneficiary selection in exchange for money.
5. Tax treatment
Eligibility for exemption depends on the donor's circumstances and on our current certificates, which are listed on the governance page. We confirm the position that applies to you in writing before you give, rather than making a general claim.
