What the problem actually is.
Undernutrition before the age of six is not recoverable later. That single fact decides how this programme is arranged: most of the spend goes to children under six, pregnant women and new mothers, rather than being spread evenly for the sake of larger headline numbers.
We supplement existing government provision instead of duplicating it - filling the gap in school holidays, adding eggs or milk where the ration lacks protein, and supporting anganwadi centres with the equipment they are short of.
Kitchen gardens run alongside, because a household that grows greens eats them. It is slower than distribution and lasts longer.
Who this is for: Children under six, pregnant and nursing women, and school-age children during holidays.
The work, specifically.
Each of these is funded with its running costs included - stipends, repairs, follow-up - because that is what decides whether it survives past the first year.
Holiday meal cover
Meals during school holidays, when the midday meal stops but the need does not.
Take-home rations
Protein-focused supplements for pregnant women, new mothers and children under six.
Anganwadi support
Equipment, storage and cooking facilities for centres running below standard.
Kitchen gardens
Seeds, training and follow-up so households grow their own vegetables.
Growth monitoring
Regular measurement with referral for children showing faltering growth.

Three things that would make a difference here.
- Fund holiday meal cover for one school.
- Sponsor take-home rations for a cohort of mothers.
- Volunteer with a growth-monitoring round in your district.
Contributes to
- SDG 2 Zero hunger
- SDG 3 Good health and wellbeing
