What the problem actually is.
Assistive technology has become extraordinarily good and remains largely unavailable to the people who need it most. A screen reader costs nothing; the phone to run it, the training to use it and the internet connection to make it worthwhile are the barriers.
We supply the whole chain rather than one link, and we work on the demand side too. Employers repeatedly tell us they would hire if they knew how; that is a solvable problem, and it is cheaper to solve than most people assume.
Accessibility also disciplines our own work. Every site we build, including this one, is tested with a screen reader and by keyboard, because a foundation that publishes an inaccessible page about accessibility deserves the criticism it gets.
Who this is for: People with visual, hearing, mobility and learning disabilities, and the schools and employers around them.

Each of these is funded with its running costs included - stipends, repairs, follow-up - because that is what decides whether it survives past the first year.
